Building Management Systems

Yamas Environmental Systems, Inc. offers comprehensive BMS solutions to provide state-of-the-art automated control for HVAC systems ranging from a single unit to multi-building campus, high rise and special purpose facility environments. From an easy to use graphical interface, users can schedule, adjust, monitor and trend critical HVAC operations ensuring maximum operating efficiency and building comfort. We have partnered with TAC, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, and utilize TAC’s I/A Series platform as the foundation for our BMS solutions.

The I/A Series platform is an open protocol controls system that communicates using industry standard LON, BACnet, Modbus and TCP/IP protocols. This flexibility allows us to easily integrate with field devices, mechanical equipment and third party systems offered by most manufacturers enabling your BMS to truly become the command center for your building or campus. The user interface as well as network communications are based on Tridium technology providing nearly limitless possibilities for system scheduling and control. Critical alarming can be reported via graphical alarms, hardcopy reports, emails and text messages ensuring you are always informed of system status and unexpected events.

In addition to offering turn-key solutions, we can also provide you with a “parts and smarts” package and furnish everything you need to complete the installation with your own resources.

Systems Integration
Integrating standalone building systems into a single user interface can provide significant benefits to building owners, operators and tenants including increased energy efficiencies, comfort and security. Yamas Environmental Systems, Inc. has significant systems integration experience and we can custom design an integration plan based on your building or campus environment which may include the following systems:

  • Third party BMS platforms (ex., Johnson Controls, ALC, Trane, Liebert)
  • Lighting control
  • Access control
  • CCTV and IP video management systems
  • Third party monitoring
  • Air quality management
  • Power monitoring
  • Specialty data center monitoring and control systems including UPS monitoring
  • Snow melt
  • Leak detection

An example of the benefits of integrating complimentary building systems is the integration of the BMS, access and lighting control systems. We can provide a fully integrated system that can use occupancy information gathered by the access control system to manage HVAC and lighting functions. The information shared by these systems can be used to reduce energy consumption by limiting lighting and HVAC to specific areas of a building and only for authorized tenants. This integrated control could also be used to provide detailed utility billing reports for third party tenants and to provide BMS alarms when critical doors are held open too long resulting in building pressurization changes and unnecessary heating or cooling.

BMS Upgrades
Yamas Environmental Systems, Inc. represents several legacy TAC controls systems including the Barber-Coleman Network 8000 and Robertshaw DMS systems. We have the unique ability to seamlessly integrate your existing Network 8000 or DMS system with the I/A Series network controller and user interface using technology only available to TAC partners. An I/A Series integration can provide significant savings compared to complete system replacement because you can continue to use all existing field devices and communications infrastructure, but will get all of the features and benefits offered by the latest I/A Series platform.
